On the wall

My art on the walls of the homes of buyers.

YELLOW CRUCIFIX

A couple bought the artwork Yellow Crucifix and hang it in different places in their home. When they moved to a new home, they hang it in the master bedroom. The colors on the walls and throw pillows match the artwork beautifully.

PURPLE-GRAY CRUCIFIX

Tirza saw this crucifix on Facebook, on Good Friday. It was during the first corona lockdown. On the second day of Easter she came to me with her husband to bring the artwork home. They kept their distance outside, when I placed the painting in their car. It was a very special happening. The painting was beautifully hang on the warm gray wall in their living room.

ORANGE CRUCIFIX

The husband of my former reverent contacted me, because he wanted to give his wife one of my crucifix paintings for her birthday. He came to my home to choose the painting from a collection of crucifix paintings. I displayed a number of paintings and he choose one of the best. The reverent has moved to another city to lead an other congregation. Now the painting hangs in her study, with the wall painted in orange, to compliment the painting. I love this new home of the orange crucifix! Also a great text on her screen.

WOMAN WITH CHILD

The woman who bought this painting was immediately enthusiastic when she saw the painting in the AtelierRoute. The next day she bought it. She hang it in a central place in her home, on a balustrade. The image in the painting felt for her as a compensation for the lack of security and warmth in her youth, she would have loved to have that.

After only one year she got ill with cancer and died. For her the painting was that important that she wanted the image on the cover of the funeral liturgy. The painting was also present at the funeral. It all made a deep impression.

I will never forget how her eyes lit up when she saw the painting for the first time. I based it on a photo I took in Cambodja.

THE GARDEN

In 2019 my parents commissioned me to make a realistic painting of their garden, at my parental home. My father chose the view. The painting would be a memory of the farm they lived at for 52 years, when they would move to an apartment for elderly people. They moved a few months later. Now it hangs above the dining table in their new home. It is a beautiful memory for all of us.

WITH THE BOOK OF JOHN

This is a painting that I made in a workshop, where I was the teacher myself. It is made with cheap materials. I decided to sell a few of these paintings at the AtelierRoute for 5,- euro’s each. An acquaintance of my church loved the painting and after consultation with his wife, he bought it.

I love how he made a frame for the painting, and suddenly it is a beautiful piece of art. Based on a text from the book of John in the Bible.

ABSTRACT GARDEN

My eldest brother was immediately attracted to these two abstract paintings, inspired by the garden of my parental home. Some time later he helped with the setting up of an exhibition and he decided to buy them.

It is very special to me when family appreciate and buy my art. I love how they hang it on the wall in their living room. Very proud.

BEING CARRIED

This is very special to me, I gave this drawing of being carried to my boyfriend. I hang the drawing on paper on the wall in the bedroom. My boyfriend liked it so much that he framed it. Together we hang it in its place. The colors match beautifully with the soft pink background of the wall.

ALLES WAT ZACHT WAS II

One of the original artworks out of my book Alles wat zacht was, an ecoline drawing, was bought by the person that I handed over the first copy of my book, at the book presentation.

The theme of the artwork is the power of the Spirit and it is the same name of her business. So the artwork matches beautifully with her background.

The artwork is lovely hang in this corner of her living room, I think it is beautiful in this spot.

ALLES WAT ZACHT WAS III

The buyer saw this artwork at the AtelierRoute. She had to wait 1,5 year, before she could bring it home. That is because at that time I was developing a book, in where the artwork would be printed. First the artwork had to be photographed and the image had to be approved by the editer.

Finally she could hang it on their wall, they framed it in a silver frame.

This is one of my favorite artworks in the book, so she has great taste!
