ICHTHUS

Ichthus shows self portraits, with the symbol of a fish. It is about our relationship with Jesus. The Greek word for fish: Ichthus, shows different names for Jesus, every letter the beginning of one of His names.

The images also show a bit of the making process. I started with exploring through drawing, then I painted with acrylics and lastly I experimented with oil paint.

The inspiration for the technique came from the art of Basquiat, where he places sort of symbols over layers of images and over other layers in his paintings.
